Yim Fong Shum Chez

Yim Fong Chez, 84, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on July 22, 2026.

Born in Yinping, China, she married Tomas Chez in 1966, and together they immigrated to the United States in 1969. They raised two sons, Thomas and Brian, and built a life for their family — with Yim Fong working as a seamstress before later joining her husband in running the family restaurant.

She is survived by her husband, Tomas Chez; her son, Brian, and his wife, Maria; and her grandsons, Dylan and Evan. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas.

Her grandsons, Dylan and Evan, always brought her tremendous joy. She will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the countless people she cared for throughout her life.
