Yan Xia Lee, a devoted wife, loving mother, and steadfast pillar of her family, passed away peacefully at 76 years of age in Manhattan, New York.
Born in Taishan, Guangdong Province, China, Yan Xia was the eldest of seven children born to Gim Lim Wong and Yuk Wan Ng. She immigrated to the United States in the summer of 1987. Like many Chinese immigrants of that era, Yan crossed the Pacific to secure a brighter future for her children, bringing with her the virtues of hard work, resilience, and boundless love. She made Manhattan her home thereafter, living there with her husband, Chee Ming, and raising their two sons.
Yan Xia’s greatest joys were the simple pleasures of life—time spent outdoors, sharing laughter with friends and neighbors, and preparing home‑cooked meals that brought her family together. She will be remembered as a caring mother, supportive wife, and reliable friend, whose legacy of generosity and perseverance lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
