Sik Yin Lee was born in Toison, China on January 5, 1932, the youngest of four children, two elder sisters and a brother.
He relocated to Hong Kong in 1961 and found work as a delivery man. On one of his runs, he met and became enchanted by a young woman, Chi Ping. Romance blossomed which eventually led to marriage and parenthood. Together they established a storefront to sell electronic goods.
In 1975, with the sponsorship of his eldest sister, Sik Yin and his family immigrated to the United States, where they resided primarily on the Lower East Side. Sik Yin and Chi Ping worked tirelessly, respectively as a chef and seamstress, and instilled a strong work ethic to ensure the best education and career opportunities for their children's success.
Sik Yin joys included biking, eating his favorite dim sum, 牛肉丸, beef balls, and watching sports. He especially enjoyed family time and was always mindful to pray for all his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Chi Ping Lee, his three children- Kim Chiu, Kim Hung (Hungy), Wai Ling (Rachael), his two daughter in laws- Sharon Yuen, Lillian Yip and four granddaughters- Hannah (spouse Matthew), Mikaela (spouse Timothy), Isabella and Mackenzie.
Sik Yin will be remembered as a devoted brother, husband, father and grandfather. He lived a long and remarkable life.
Although we miss him dearly, we are comforted in knowing that he is now resting in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
